What is Assisted Stretching?

Assisted stretching involves a trained practitioner guiding you through a series of stretches tailored to your individual needs. Unlike traditional self-stretching methods, where you may struggle to maintain proper form or relax fully, our practitioners use gentle techniques to support your body weight and ensure optimal alignment. This allows you to experience deeper stretches without the risk of injury or discomfort.

This therapeutic session will positively affect your full body alignment, though it’s performed only on feet and legs. It’s a 90-minute detailed treatment of the feet, toes, ankles, knees, and hips, realigning what our habitual movements tend to throw off- thus impacting the entire kinetic chain and systemic flows.

Those little foot structures that carry the entire body through walking, dancing, climbing, jumping, and whatever else they do – deserve this special time of pampering and healing. The protocol begins with a delightful soak in the copper basin, which is said to nourish the blood vessels through the copper ions released in the bath, alongside essential oils and a fuzzy bath bomb. The rest of the 75 min of the protocol will combine Thai stretches, Chinese acupressure, and massage techniques to provide a realignment of joints, release of tension in muscles and tendons, energy flow, and reconnection to the earth and cosmic elements.

Please note this is a deeply therapeutic session and can be uncomfortable on certain areas of the legs and feet. Contraindications include pregnancy, deep vein thrombosis, spider veins, history of blood clots.

This session can be paired with the 90 min upper body structural alignment for a full body 3-hour session.

Thai assisted yoga, which originated in India, has been around for over 2,500 years. Originally regarded as a healing art, traditional Thai stretching includes influences from both Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. 

Unlike typical Western-type massages, it doesn’t involve lying on a massage bed while a massage therapist applies oil to your body and kneads your muscles and pressure points. 

Instead, you lie fully clothed on a mat on the ground while a Thai practitioner uses stretching, pulling, and rocking techniques to relieve tension, promote relaxation, and improve flexibility and circulation.
